Full Game Devlog Post #1

Hey guys! I've got some more progress on the game to show y'all!

As you can see on the included screenies, I have been working on a desert area that will be part of the third section of the game after the second boss. I made a field area, a town with a palace in it, a valley, and I'm currently working on a temple where the section's climax will occur.

Aside from that, I've also worked on fixing a few things that I missed in the demo which will be patched up for the full release, and I've also added a few more features which will be accessible via this newly added third section. One of these features includes a magic system, or a Spirit Points system as I call it. Similar to games like the original Paper Mario on N64, I've added the ability to use these Spirit Points (SP) for more action commands such as better healing or powerful attacks, and these will come in handy and will probably make the game less tedious to some people. You will even unlock more of these commands as you progress through the game, but can only be unlocked via hidden secrets, although you will start with 3 commands once you unlock the SP system.

That is really all I have for the game so far, and this all took me these last three months to make, while having school and work at the same time. Also, I am currently in Los Angeles with my girlfriend for Spring Break, but I still tried my best to share some progress on the game via my laptop. I wanted to do it before our trip, but I ran out of time, so here it is! lol

But overall, I think it's all coming together very well, and I can't wait to share more of it. This has been a huge personal project for me, and I never thought I would make something like this. It may not seem perfect, but it's something I wanted to make for a long time ever since I started getting into game making, and I'm just happy it's getting this much attention, even for a simple and basic freeware RPG title. Thank you so much, and I'll see ya next time!
